Okay, so where do I even start?!

I was born in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe now), grew up in South Africa, and spent years as a project manager for an IT company in Durban. Spreadsheets, deadlines, alllll of it.

In 2019 my husband Jethro's work took us to Costa Rica, with our daughter and our two cocker spaniels, Max and Axel. In 2022 we got to CHOOSE where to live next, and Málaga won. It has been home ever since.

Those first months were A LOT. So I did what I always do: I made notes. Places I loved going to, eating at, exploring. When friends came to visit I handed over my lists, and that is exactly where Spain on Foot was born!

The name is a little deceiving. I do love a good hike, but Spain on Foot isn't about hiking. Where I come from you drive everywhere, so being able to walk to the shops, the beach or a restaurant, and feel completely safe doing it, still feels like a small miracle to me.

In 2024 I stopped teaching English online because the blog was earning its own income. Then I discovered Málaga's rooftop bars, and well... Málaga Rooftop Bars became website number two.

One more thing: I've taught myself alllll of this. WordPress first, now I build everything with vibe coding, and every social account I have, I created and still run on my own.
